Alfuzosin Amisulpride Aripiprazole Carbamazepine
Itrafen 1% Cream is an antifungal medication which treats skin infections. It works by killing the fungi on the skin by destroying their cell membrane.
Itrafen 1% Cream helps treat skin infections caused by many different types of fungi. Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It can take a few weeks for the infection to clear and a few months before the skin returns to its normal color. Apply an amount sufficient to cover the affected area and 1 inch of the immediate surrounding skin. Avoid getting in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Inform your doctor if the infection has not cleared up after four weeks of treatment.
Itrafen 1% Cream is a topical medication used to treat fungal infections caused by Trichophyton spp., Microsporum spp., and Epidermophyton floccosum. This includes ringworm, foot infections, groin/buttock infections, and nail infections. Itrafen 1% Cream can also be used for treating persistent Candida (yeast) infections in the vagina or mouth in individuals with lower resistance to disease. Other conditions it treats include cryptococcal infection and infections caused by histoplasma, aspergillus, and blastomyces.
Itrafen 1% Cream is primarily effective against Trichophyton species which cause ringworm infection, athlete's foot, and jock itch (fungal infection of the skin in the groin or buttocks). It also effectively targets yeast commonly known as Candida, particularly vaginal thrush (a fungal infection caused by an overgrowth of Candida albicans).
Before applying Itrafen 1% Cream: Clean and dry the affected area thoroughly. Gently massage a thin layer of cream onto the skin, avoiding contact with eyes or mouth. If it gets in your eyes, wash immediately with water and contact your doctor if irritation persists.
The duration of treatment will vary depending on the type and site of infection, and the patient’s response to therapy. For example, athlete's foot (fungal infections of the feet and between the toes) might require a course lasting 30 days. In cases of Candida vaginitis (vaginal yeast infection), it may range from 1 to 3 days as prescribed by your doctor.
No, do not stop taking Itrafen 1% Cream without first consulting with your doctor. Stopping treatment prematurely may lead to incomplete fungal clearance and potential recurrence of the infection. You should allow at least 6-9 months for nail lesions to completely clear up after initiating treatment and follow-up with your doctor.
Itrafen 1% Cream is generally considered safe for use in children under the direction of a healthcare professional. The appropriate dosage should be determined by the physician, and the treatment duration should be prescribed according to the child's needs.
Keep affected skin areas clean and dry but avoid excessive scrubbing. Scratching can worsen the infection, so refrain from doing so. It is crucial to not share towels, bath mats, etc. with others to minimize the spread of the infection.
Itrafen 1% Cream may reduce the effectiveness of rubber contraceptives like diaphragms and condoms. If used on the vulva or penis, alternative contraceptive methods should be considered for at least 5 days after treatment.
You might notice a decline in symptoms like itching and soreness within a few days of starting the medication. However, you may need to be patient as other signs like redness or scaling may take longer to improve. Do not stop using the cream without consulting your doctor.
If you miss a dose, it's fine! Simply continue with the prescribed medication as usual and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns.
