How it works
Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.
Quick Tips
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Your child may have a bitter taste in the mouth after the intake of Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup?
When giving Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup to your child, inform your doctor about any other medications they are currently taking. Additionally, consult with their pediatrician before administering any new medication.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup?
In most cases, antibiotics like Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have recently been vaccinated. However, it's recommended to delay vaccination until your child has fully recovered from the illness.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Your pediatrician may periodically monitor kidney and liver function tests during prolonged therapy with Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup to assess your child's overall condition.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup to my child?
No, administering a higher dose of this medication can increase the risk of adverse effects. If you notice an escalation of symptoms, consult with your doctor for re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
Do not discontinue treatment unless the full course is completed, even if symptoms improve before the infection is fully cured. Continue administering the medication as directed to ensure its beneficial effects.
Can the use of Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Invoxin-CV Dds Dry Syrup may cause diarrhea due to its antibiotic properties, which can disrupt helpful bacteria in your child's stomach. Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids if they experience diarrhea and consult with your doctor if symptoms persist or signs of dehydration are noticed.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most viral infections do not lead to secondary bacterial infections, and administering antibiotics can increase the risk of adverse effects. Consult with your pediatrician before using antibiotics.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
A yellow or green nasal discharge does not necessarily indicate the need for antibiotics. During a common cold, mucus can thicken and change color, with symptoms often lasting 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
Seek immediate medical attention if your child experiences severe allergic reactions (breathing difficulties, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). While rare, these side effects are serious and require prompt medical attention.
