Introduction

Intragat 400mg Tablet is an antibiotic prescribed for the treatment of bacterial infections. It is effective against infections in the urinary tract, nose, throat, skin, soft tissues, and lungs (pneumonia). The medication works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria, thereby curing the infection. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and duration as advised by your doctor. Common side effects include headache, dizziness, vomiting, nausea, and stomach pain, which are usually temporary. Diarrhea may also occur but should resolve after completing the course. Consult your doctor if side effects persist or if you notice blood in your stools. Avoid this medicine if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, and exercise caution if you have kidney problems.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it whole without chewing, crushing, or breaking it. It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Intragat 400mg Tablet works by inhibiting the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.

Gatifloxacin oral (tablet and suspension) and injection form has been withdrawn from the market due to incidences of abnormally high or low blood sugar levels in humans. Its ophthalmic form (eye drop) is available to treat bacterial infections of the eye and is considered safe for use.
