Frequently asked questions
What is Insicobal 2500mcg Injection?
Insicobal 2500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that the body needs to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
Vitamin B12 is found naturally in some foods like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. People who follow vegetarian or vegan diets may not get enough vitamin B12 because it's not naturally present in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, a deficiency of vitamin B12 is often observed in vegetarians and vegans.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency may cause fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (a condition where red blood cells become larger than normal). It can also lead to nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency include problems with balance, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Is Insicobal 2500mcg Injection safe?
Insicobal 2500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash have been reported in some individuals. Discontinue using this medicine immediately if you experience a rash.
