How it works
Ikvadec-MR Tablet is a combination of a muscle relaxant (Chlorzoxazone) and two pain relieving medicines (Diclofenac and Paracetamol). The muscle relaxant works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm, thereby improving movement of muscles. The pain relieving medicines work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

Frequently asked questions
What is Ikvadec-MR Tablet used for?
Ikvadec-MR Tablet is a combination medication that helps relieve muscle pain. It contains three active ingredients: Diclofenac, Paracetamol, and Chlorzoxazone. Diclofenac and Paracetamol work together to reduce prostaglandins in the body, which causes pain and inflammation, while Chlorzoxazone acts as a muscle relaxant that works on the central nervous system.
Is Ikvadec-MR Tablet safe to use?
Ikvadec-MR Tablet is generally considered safe for most patients. However, some individuals may experience common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite, dry mouth, weakness, and drowsiness. In rare cases, more severe side effects can occur. It is essential to inform your doctor immediately if you experience any persistent problems due to the medication.
When should I stop taking Ikvadec-MR Tablet?
You should continue taking Ikvadec-MR Tablet as directed by your doctor for a specific time duration. If you are using it for short-term pain relief, you can discontinue the medication once your symptoms have improved.
Can I experience nausea and vomiting while taking Ikvadec-MR Tablet?
Yes, Ikvadec-MR Tablet may cause nausea and vomiting in some patients. To minimize this side effect, take the medicine with milk, food, or antacids. Avoid consuming fatty or fried foods along with the medication. If you experience persistent vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids by taking small frequent sips. Inform your doctor if vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration, such as dark-colored and strong-smelling urine and a low frequency of urination.
Can I feel dizzy while taking Ikvadec-MR Tablet?
Yes, some patients may experience dizziness or lightheadedness after taking Ikvadec-MR Tablet. If you feel dizzy, it is best to rest for a while and resume once you feel better.
Can long-term use of Ikvadec-MR Tablet cause kidney damage?
Yes, the prolonged use of painkillers in Ikvadec-MR Tablet can lead to kidney damage. Normal kidneys produce prostaglandins that protect them from harm. The use of painkillers lowers prostaglandin levels in the body, potentially causing kidney damage over time. Patients with pre-existing kidney disease should avoid using this medication.
Should I take a higher dose of Ikvadec-MR Tablet if my pain persists?
No, taking more than the recommended dose of Ikvadec-MR Tablet increases the risk of side effects. If your symptoms persist or worsen despite following the recommended dosage, consult your doctor for re-evaluation and guidance.
How should I store Ikvadec-MR Tablet?
Store Ikvadec-MR Tablet in its original container, tightly closed. Dispose of unused medicine according to the instructions on the pack or label. Ensure that pets, children, and other individuals do not consume the medication.
