Introduction

IG-Cold Syrup is to be given by mouth with or without food. Take it at a fixed time each day to avoid missing a dose. However, never repeat the dose if it's already time for the next dose. You may start to feel better within a week of regular dosing. Although, continue the medicine to finish the prescribed course as stopping it abruptly may worsen the condition.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. IG-Cold Syrup may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Side Effects

Minor and temporary side effects may include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, rash, and headache.

Alcohol Warning

Avoid consuming alcohol when taking this medicine as it may cause excessive drowsiness.

IG-Cold Syrup is composed of antipyretic, analgesic, antiallergic, expectorants, and soothing agents. Paracetamol blocks the release of certain chemicals (prostaglandins) that cause pain and fever. Chlorpheniramine maleate blocks the action of histamine, thereby relieving symptoms. Phenylephrine works by narrowing the small blood vessels which provides temporary relief from inflammation (redness and swelling) and discomfort. Sodium citrate is a mucolytic medication. It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) in the nose, windpipe, and lungs making it easier to cough out. Ammonium chloride works by decreasing the stickiness of phlegm and helps remove it from the airways. Menthol works by producing a mild anesthetic action causing numbness and a cooling sensation in the area of application.

IG-Cold Syrup helps relieve symptoms of cold and flu such as headache, sore throat, runny nose, muscular pain, and fever. It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Don't drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking this medicine as it may cause excessive drowsiness. Do not take it with any other medicine containing paracetamol (drugs for pain/fever or cough-and-cold) without asking your doctor first. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
