Introduction
Iceband Oral Suspension is an anti-worm medicine given to treat a multitude of parasitic worm infestations such as roundworm and tapeworm infections in children. It works by paralyzing and restraining the worms from absorbing the body's energy, leading to their eventual death.
Directions for Use
Do not share your child's medicines with others and do not give anyone else's medicine to your child. Worm infections are easily spread between family members. Your doctor may recommend treatment for all family members on the same day whether or not they have any symptoms of infection.
How it works
Iceband Oral Suspension is a mixture of two medicines: Ivermectin and Albendazole. Ivermectin works by binding to the muscle and nerve cells of worms causing their paralysis and death. Albendazole works by keeping the worms from absorbing sugar (glucose) thereby depleting their energy level. This causes the worms to die thereby treating your child's infection effectively.
Quick Tips
Do not give raw or undercooked food to your child. Always give a balanced diet containing herbs fruits and spices of therapeutic value. Encourage your child to wash their hands with soap and water every time they use the toilet as that will help prevent cross-infection. Trim your child's nails frequently to disable any source of worm infection. Maintain a neat space and hygiene around your child. Call your child's doctor right away if the child exhibits signs of allergic reaction like rash itching or any other sign of infection such as fever gum-bleeding black or red stools and blood in urine or vomit.

Frequently asked questions
How can I know that my child is having a worm infection?
Signs of a possible worm infection include: an itchy bottom (rectal area), difficulty sitting, fatigue, restless sleep due to anal itching, and persistent stomach pain with loss of appetite or frequent indigestion. Another sign is pica, where your child may be eating inedible substances like mud. If you see any of these signs, consult your child's doctor immediately. A stool and blood sample collection on three different days might be needed for diagnosis. Based on the reports, your doctor will decide upon treatment with appropriate medication.
What is the best time to give Iceband Oral Suspension to my child?
Iceband Oral Suspension can be administered at any time of day. Make sure to provide it with a fat-containing food like milk during or after administration.
How can my child become infected with intestinal worms?
Infection can occur when areas are not properly maintained, and soil is contaminated by worm eggs. Your child may get infected through playing in the contaminated soil. When your child returns home after playing outside, ask them to thoroughly wash their hands and lower body using soap and water. Drinking contaminated water or consuming vegetables and fruits without proper washing or peeling can also transmit these parasites.
How should I store my child’s medicine?
Store Iceband Oral Suspension at room temperature in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children and pets to prevent accidental ingestion. Do not freeze the medicine.
When should I call my child's doctor right away?
Seek immediate medical attention if your child experiences vision problems, puffy eyes, severe itching all over their body, difficulty walking or standing, trouble breathing, fast heart rate. If your child also feels disoriented or confused, exhibits loss of bowel control, or complains of neck pain soon after taking Iceband Oral Suspension.
