Ibawin 150mg Tablet is used in the treatment and prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis. It strengthens bones by stopping cells called osteoclasts from breaking down bone.

Ibawin 150mg Tablet is best taken without food. You should take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you to remember to take it. Do not stop taking it until you have finished even when you feel better. It may take several days to get the full benefit of this drug. Ibawin 150mg Tablet is only part of a program of treatment that may also include changes to your diet and taking calcium and vitamin supplements.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ibawin 150mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

Ibawin 150mg Tablet is a bisphosphonate. It works by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts cells that cause destruction of bone. This strengthens the bones and minimizes the risk of fractures.
Ibawin 150mg Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called bisphosphonates, which prevents abnormal breakdown of bones. It is used to prevent and treat osteoporosis and fractures in people with metastatic cancer (a cancer which spreads to newer areas of the body). It may also be used to treat hypercalcemia (elevated blood calcium levels).
Ibawin 150mg Tablet works by increasing the density of bones which helps prevent osteoporosis. It also helps to treat high calcium levels in the blood caused due to secondary bone cancer. It is also helpful in treating metastasis of bone, which is caused due to breast cancer.
Ibawin 150mg Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. The medicine takes around 6 months to show its maximum benefits on bones. However, in some cases the doctor may suggest Ibawin 150mg Tablet for a longer duration. The exact duration will depend on the condition you are being treated for.
It should be taken in the morning after getting up on an empty stomach with a full glass of water. Do not lie down and stay fully upright for at least 60 minutes after swallowing the medicine. Avoid taking any food or other medication just after taking Ibawin 150mg Tablet, maintain a gap of at least 30 minutes. Take this medicine only after consulting the doctor and follow the instructions advised.
One should not lie down after taking Ibawin 150mg Tablet as there is a possibility that the medication might come back up into the esophagus (food pipe) and even damage the esophagus.
