Meniere's disease is a disorder that affects the inner ear, impacting balance and hearing. Symptoms include vertigo (dizziness), fluctuating hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and pressure sensations in the ears. Nausea and vomiting can also occur alongside dizziness. While there's no known cure for Meniere's disease, treatment aims to manage symptoms and improve quality of life. It involves a personalized approach based on factors specific to each individual. A discussion with your doctor is crucial to determine the most effective treatment strategy in your unique case.
Hybet 24mg Tablet can be effective if used as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Do not stop taking it even if you experience improvement, as stopping prematurely might lead to symptom recurrence or exacerbation.
Meniere's disease can be triggered by various factors including: stress, overwork, fatigue, emotional distress, additional illnesses, and pressure changes. Certain foods like dairy products, caffeine, alcohol, and high-sodium foods might also trigger symptoms. Adopting a low-salt diet (2 grams/day) may help manage vertigo in Meniere's disease.
If you forget a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it's almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and take the following dose at its scheduled time. Never double the dose to compensate for the missed one, as this could increase side effects.
Stress can significantly exacerbate vertigo symptoms, but it's not a standalone cause of vertigo itself.
Vertigo can be triggered by sudden drops in blood pressure or dehydration. Rapid changes in position from sitting to standing can also lead to dizziness and lightheadedness. Motion sickness, certain medications, and inner ear problems such as Meniere's disease or acoustic neuroma are common causes of vertigo. It is important to note that sometimes vertigo may be a symptom of other underlying disorders (such as multiple sclerosis or head injuries).
