Hocid 20mg Tablet is best taken one hour before a meal, preferably in the morning. The dose depends on your condition and response to the medicine. Continue taking it as prescribed even if symptoms disappear quickly. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, flatulence, diarrhea, and stomach pain. Long-term use may increase the risk of bone fractures. Inform your doctor if you have severe liver problems, allergies to similar medicines, or osteoporosis. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it whole without chewing, crushing, or breaking it. Hocid 20mg Tablet is to be taken on an empty stomach.
Hocid 20mg Tablet is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach, providing relief from symptoms of heartburn, acid reflux, peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
It is a well-tolerated medicine and provides relief for a long time. Avoid excessive intake of carbonated beverages, citrus juices, fried food, and caffeinated beverages like tea and coffee. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Avoid eating late at night or before bedtime. Inform your doctor if you get watery diarrhea, fever, or stomach pain that does not go away. Inform your doctor if you do not feel better after taking it for 14 days. Long-term use can cause weak bones and a deficiency of minerals like magnesium. Take adequate dietary intake of calcium and magnesium or their supplements as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking medication without talking to your doctor. Consult your doctor right away if you develop decreased urination, edema, lower back pain, nausea, fatigue, and rash or fever.
