Hikem Tablet is a Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatoid Drug (DMARD) that works by suppressing the overactivity of the immune system that causes inflammation (swelling) and pain in the joints. It is also used to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is available in the form of a tablet and should be taken with food.
Directions for Use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Hikem Tablet is to be taken with food.

How it works
Hikem Tablet is a Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatoid Drug (DMARD) that works by suppressing the overactivity of the immune system that causes inflammation (swelling) and pain in the joints. This slows the progression of the underlying disease. It has also been suggested that hydroxychloroquine may increase insulin sensitivity and improve beta-cell function thereby improving glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

You have been prescribed Hikem Tablet for the treatment of autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis or systemic lupus erythematosus. Take it with food to avoid an upset stomach. Do not take medicines that neutralise stomach acids (antacids) four hours before and after taking Hikem Tablet as they can stop the medicine from being absorbed properly from your gut. Have regular eye tests done while taking this medicine. Stop taking it and inform your doctor immediately if you notice any changes in your vision.
