Highsafe O 50mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. By doing so, this medicine stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Give this medicine with food to avoid an upset stomach. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Only give Highsafe O 50mg Tablet to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses. Stop this medicine and immediately report to your child’s doctor in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
Giving an extra dose of Highsafe O 50mg Tablet is unlikely to cause harm. However, if you think your child has taken too much of the medicine, please speak with a doctor right away. An overdose may lead to unwanted side effects and potentially worsen their condition.
Some severe side effects of this medication include persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergies, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. If you experience any of these symptoms, please consult your child's doctor for assistance.
Highsafe O 50mg Tablet may interact with other medications or substances. Before starting treatment, inform your child's doctor about any other medicines they are taking. Additionally, please consult with their doctor before administering any medication.
Antibiotics typically do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have just been vaccinated. However, it is recommended to delay vaccination until your child has recovered from their illness. Once they feel better, the vaccine can be administered.
The doctor may recommend periodic kidney function and liver function tests to monitor your child's condition during extended treatment with Highsafe O 50mg Tablet.
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily indicate the need for antibiotics, as this is often seen during common colds and can last for 7-10 days.
No, more than 80% of sore throats and ear infections are caused by viruses, and antibiotics should not be given in these cases. If your child has symptoms such as a sore throat, runny nose, barky cough, pain, or discharge from the ear, it is likely due to a viral infection. Consult with their doctor for guidance.
In most cases, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. Using antibiotics to treat viral infections may lead to side effects without benefiting your child's health. Consult with their doctor before starting any antibiotic treatment.
Children often experience stomach upset while taking antibiotics, and the good bacteria in their gastrointestinal tract may be affected. Highsafe O 50mg Tablet may kill off the good bacteria along with the bad, increasing the risk of developing other infections. If your child experiences diarrhea while on treatment, please consult with their doctor for guidance.
Yes, irregular treatment, repeated use, and misuse of Highsafe O 50mg Tablet can contribute to the development of resistant bacteria. Resistant bacteria are not killed by antibiotics and may lead to reinfection.
