Herperax 400 Tablet is an antiviral medicine used to treat viral infections such as herpes labialis, herpes simplex, shingles, genital herpes infection, and chickenpox.

Herperax 400 Tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Dissolve it in a glass of water before taking it. It may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose. You should drink plenty of water while on treatment with this medicine as it helps to prevent dehydration and kidney damage.

Avoid touching your eyes after touching an infected area. Wash hands frequently and practice safe sex by using condoms. Do not have sex if you have genital sores or blisters.
Serious side effects are rare, but seeking immediate medical attention is necessary if they occur. Rare side effects include hives, blistering or peeling rash, yellowing of skin or eyes, unusual bruising or bleeding, loss of consciousness, seizures, difficulty in breathing, hallucinations and swelling of the face, tongue, lips or throat.
Older adults (over age 65 years) are prone to experiencing more side effects when taking Herperax 400 Tablet. This is because their kidneys may not remove the drug as efficiently as a younger person's kidney function does. Elderly patients should drink adequate water while on Herperax 400 Tablet, and their kidney function should be monitored. They may require a lower dose of the medication and be monitored for neurological complications.
Accidental, repeated overdoses of oral Herperax 400 Tablet over several days have led to nausea, vomiting, confusion and headache. Seek immediate medical attention in case of overdose.
Patients with advanced HIV disease or those with a compromised immune system have reported resistance to Herperax 400 Tablet. If you are not responding to Herperax 400 Tablet, the possibility of drug resistance should be investigated.
Hair loss is an uncommon side effect of Herperax 400 Tablet. This side effect stops once the medication is discontinued.
