Introduction

Amla is a green coloured translucent fruit which derives its name from the Sanskrit word ‘Amalaki’ which means “nectar of life”. Ayurveda claims that amla can balance the three doshas in our body, namely: Kapha, Vata and Pitta, thereby eliminating the underlying cause of many diseases.
