Heal IT Ointment is a combination of four medicines: Betamethasone, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid, and Urea. Betamethasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid, and Urea are keratolytic medicines which break down keratin clumps, remove dead skin cells, and soften the skin. They also enhance the absorption of Betamethasone into the skin.
Heal IT Ointment is used to treat the redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with psoriasis and eczema. It is advisable to apply it once a day. For best effect, leave it on during the day if you have applied it in the morning or overnight if you have used it in the evening. Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily or as advised by your doctor. Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor as this may increase the risk of side effects.
