How it works
Grewia CV Dry Syrup is a potent antibiotic comprising two active medicines: Cefixime and Clavulanic acid. Cefixime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. By doing so, this medicine stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing and prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment. The second ingredient, clavulanic acid, is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It reduces resistance and enhances the activity of cefixime against bacteria.

Frequently asked questions
What if I accidentally give my child too much Grewia CV Dry Syrup?
If you suspect your child has received an excessive dose of Grewia CV Dry Syrup, consult a doctor immediately. Although an extra dose is unlikely to cause harm, overdoses may increase the risk of adverse effects and potentially worsen your child's condition.
Are there any serious side effects of Grewia CV Dry Syrup?
Grewia CV Dry Syrup may cause severe side effects, including persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, diarrhea, and gastrointestinal infections. If you notice any of these symptoms, consult your child's doctor for guidance.
Can other medicines be taken with Grewia CV Dry Syrup?
Grewia CV Dry Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. Inform your doctor about any medications your child is taking before starting Grewia CV Dry Syrup. Additionally, consult your child's doctor before administering any medication to your child.
Can my child receive vaccinations while taking Grewia CV Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics typically do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have recently been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not receive vaccinations until they have recovered from their illness. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be administered.
Is yellow-green mucus in my child's nose a sign of a bacterial infection?
The color of mucus does not indicate the type of infection your child has. Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily require antibiotics. During a common cold, symptoms typically last 7-10 days, and mucus texture and color may change.
My child has a sore throat and ear infection. Can I give antibiotics?
No. More than 80% of sore throats and ear infections are caused by viruses, and antibiotics are not prescribed for viral infections. If your child exhibits symptoms such as a sore throat, runny nose, barky cough, pain, and ear discharge, it is likely due to a virus. Consult your child's doctor for guidance.
