Glucotag 25mg Tablet should be taken just before or along with the first few bites of the meal. The dose and how often you need it will be decided by your doctor so that you get the right amount to control your blood sugar levels. It may be increased gradually. Do not stop taking it without consulting your doctor. If you do, your blood sugar levels may increase and put you at risk of serious complications like kidney damage and blindness.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Glucotag 25mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Glucotag 25mg Tablet is an anti-diabetic medicine. It inhibits the intestinal enzymes responsible for breaking complex sugars into simple sugars such as glucose. This prevents blood glucose levels from rising very high immediately after meals.
Along with your regular doctor visit you might also need regular check-ups with an eye clinic and a foot clinic as well. Along with a healthy diet indulge in light exercises regularly and quit smoking and drinking. If you feel excessively thirsty, pass urine more frequently and get tired easily, then let your doctor know.
Glucotag 25mg Tablet does not cause hypoglycemia by itself due to its glucose-lowering effect. However, taking it with other antidiabetic medications or insulin may lead to a decrease in blood sugar levels within the hypoglycemic range. If this occurs, consult your doctor who may adjust your dosage accordingly.
Glucotag 25mg Tablet blocks carbohydrate digestion, causing undigested carbohydrates to accumulate in the colon. Bacterial fermentation of these accumulated carbohydrates leads to intestinal gas, resulting in flatulence and abdominal pain.
Yes, diarrhea is a frequent side effect associated with Glucotag 25mg Tablet. However, not everyone experiences it. Consuming foods containing carbohydrates, such as household sugar (cane sugar), can lead to diarrhea and severe abdominal pain. If diarrhea persists or becomes severe, contact your doctor immediately.
Glucotag 25mg Tablet should be taken with meals, and the tablets should be swallowed whole with water or chewed with the first bite of food. The initial dose is usually twice daily, which may be gradually increased to three times a day.
If you miss a dose, do not take it between meals. Wait for your scheduled meal and continue taking the tablets as prescribed. Do not take an extra dose to make up for the missed one.
Taking an excessive dose may cause temporary increases in flatulence, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. It is advised to avoid consuming meals or drinks containing carbohydrates for the next 4-6 hours.
