Gluconorm-GS Forte 1 Tablet is a combination of three medicines used to lower blood glucose levels in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is generally prescribed when diet, exercise, and other treatments do not result in adequate glycemic control.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Gluconorm-GS Forte 1 Tablet is to be taken with food.

Alcohol Warning

Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine as it may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level).

Breastfeeding Warning

It is not recommended to take Gluconorm-GS Forte 1 Tablet while breastfeeding as it may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) in the baby.

Pregnancy Warning

It is not recommended to take Gluconorm-GS Forte 1 Tablet during pregnancy as it may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) in the mother and the baby.

Gluconorm-GS Forte 1 Tablet is a combination of three antidiabetic medications. Sitagliptin helps to control blood sugar levels by increasing substances (incretins) in the body that make the pancreas release more insulin. It also signals the liver to stop producing sugar (glucose) when there is too much sugar in the blood. Glimepiride lowers blood sugar by causing the pancreas to produce insulin (a natural substance that is needed to break down sugar in the body) and helping the body use insulin efficiently. Metformin decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the glucose made by the liver. It also increases the body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood (blood sugar levels).

Prefer taking Gluconorm-GS Forte 1 Tablet after a meal or with a snack as this will reduce the chance of an upset stomach. Gluconorm-GS Forte 1 Tablet may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal. Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) symptoms If you get unusually thirsty, pass urine more frequently, and feel tired, let your doctor know. These are signs that there is too much sugar in your blood and your dose may need adjusting.
