Introduction

Glaxime DS Dry Syrup can be given either before or after meals but giving it with food improves absorption and reduces the chances of stomach upset in your child. The dose and duration depend upon the type and severity of the infection so stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of the intake, give the same dose again but do not double dose if it is already time for the next dose. This medicine may have some minor and temporary side effects such as vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, allergy, and transient increased in liver enzyme. These episodes should start receding after a few doses. However, if these side effects persist or become bothersome for your child, report to the doctor without any delay.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Dissolve the powder in sterile water. Shake well and use. Glaxime DS Dry Syrup is to be taken with food. Avoid Glaxime DS Dry Syrup with dietary sodium.

Pregnancy Warning

Glaxime DS Dry Syrup is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Glaxime DS Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. By doing so, this medicine stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.

Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. This medicine is not to be taken in such cases. Only give Glaxime DS Dry Syrup to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses. Discontinue giving Glaxime DS Dry Syrup and consult the doctor immediately in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
