Introduction

GF Quin 400mg Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria, thereby curing the infection. It is effective against infections of the urinary tract, nose, throat, skin, soft tissues, and lungs (pneumonia). Common side effects include headache, dizziness, vomiting, nausea, and stomach pain, which are usually temporary. Diarrhea may also occur but should stop once the course is complete. Consult your doctor if side effects persist or if you find blood in your stools. Avoid this medicine if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, and take special care if you have kidney problems.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it whole without chewing, crushing, or breaking it. GF Quin 400mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

GF Quin 400mg Tablet works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase, preventing bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.

Gatifloxacin oral (tablet and suspension) and injection form has been withdrawn from the market due to incidences of abnormally high or low blood sugar levels in humans. Its ophthalmic form (eye drop) is available to treat bacterial infections of the eye and is considered safe for use.
