Introduction

Geriflo Tablet SR is a combination of two medicines that work in different ways to treat men with an enlarged prostate gland. It helps to relieve symptoms such as difficulty urinating or needing to go to the toilet more often. It is not used to prevent prostate cancer.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Geriflo Tablet SR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Alcohol Warning

Geriflo Tablet SR may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

Geriflo Tablet SR is a combination of two medicines: Tamsulosin and Finasteride. Tamsulosin is an alpha-blocker that works by relaxing the muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland to allow easy passage of urine. Finasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that helps in shrinking the prostate gland by decreasing the level of the hormone that helps the prostate gland grow.

You have been prescribed Geriflo Tablet SR to relieve the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Take it approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day. Geriflo Tablet SR may cause dizziness or blurring of vision. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. Inform your eye doctor about the usage of Geriflo Tablet SR if you are scheduled to undergo an eye surgery due to cataract or glaucoma.
