Introduction
Gelyte powder is an oral electrolyte powder used to restore body fluids and electrolytes lost due to chronic salt-losing conditions, such as diarrhea or vomiting, and to prevent muscle cramps during routine hemodialysis. It is also used to replace fluid and electrolytes and to prevent or treat low blood levels of potassium (hypokalemia).
Directions for Use
Dissolve the contents of the packet in the amount of drinking water indicated on the packet. If drinking water is not available, or if you are not sure the water is drinkable, boil the water for at least 10 minutes and then let cool. Stir well, and give to the child to drink in a cup or spoon feed.
