Gabafix Gel is a combination of five medications. Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by stopping the body's production of a substance that causes pain. Capsaicin works by decreasing a certain natural substance in your body that helps pass pain signals to the brain. Menthol and methyl salicylate work by causing the skin to feel cool and then warm, distracting you from feeling the aches/pains deeper in your muscles and joints. Pregabalin works by decreasing the number of pain signals that are sent out by damaged nerves in the body.
