Introduction

Forlox Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine used to treat various bacterial infections in children, including those affecting the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, abdomen, and urinary tract. It is also part of the treatment regimen for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB). While effective, it is important to follow the prescribed dosage and be aware of potential side effects and interactions with other medications.

Administer Forlox Oral Suspension as prescribed by your child's doctor. Do not double the dose if a dose is missed. Avoid giving calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamins, or antacids within 2 hours of taking this medicine.

Forlox Oral Suspension interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA, hampering bacterial multiplication and survival, thus killing the infection-causing bacteria and preventing the infection from spreading.

Do not panic if a dose is missed; give it as soon as you remember unless advised otherwise by the doctor. Do not double the dose to catch up. Avoid giving calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamins, or antacids within 2 hours of taking Forlox Oral Suspension. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water if diarrhea develops. Do not use this medicine for viral infections like the common cold or flu. Discontinue use and inform the doctor immediately if a rash, itchy skin, swelling of the face and mouth, or difficulty in breathing occurs. Only use Forlox Oral Suspension for the current infection; do not save it for future illnesses.
