Flucomb DS Oral Suspension is a medication used to treat symptoms of common cold, hay fever, and other respiratory tract conditions in children.
Oral Suspension
Flucomb DS Oral Suspension is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, watery eyes, sore throat, body ache, and fever. These symptoms are usually associated with common cold, hay fever (allergic rhinitis), and other respiratory tract conditions.
Take Flucomb DS Oral Suspension as directed by your doctor. Follow the instructions on the label and do not exceed the recommended dose.
Flucomb DS Oral Suspension is a combination of four medicines: Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Phenylephrine, Paracetamol, and Sodium Citrate. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic that relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Sodium citrate is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out.
Flucomb DS Oral Suspension may make your child feel sleepy. Ensure your child takes extra care when taking part in physical activities. Never combine Flucomb DS Oral Suspension with other cold and flu medicines as that may lead to side effects. Stop Flucomb DS Oral Suspension and immediately report to the doctor if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties. Practice self-care tips: clean and disinfect surfaces after sneezing and coughing to avoid allergy, give your child plenty of fluids, restrain your child from having caffeinated products and foods that are spicy and fried, make your child gargle with warm saltwater, and ensure your child takes enough rest.
Prolonged or excessive intake of Flucomb DS Oral Suspension can put your child at risk of developing serious side effects, including seizures, rapid heart rate, depression, cognition defects, and inability to concentrate. Always adhere to the prescribed dose. To accurately measure the dose, use the calibrated cup provided with the medicine by the manufacturer. Do not use a kitchen teaspoon, as it may not provide the correct estimate. If you are unsure about the correct dose or have concerns, consult your child's doctor.
Flucomb DS Oral Suspension may interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your child's doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Flucomb DS Oral Suspension. Additionally, consult with your child's doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
If your child has a pre-existing medical condition such as Cardiovascular disease (hypertension, heart disease), Diabetes mellitus, GI obstruction, increased intraocular pressure, urinary obstruction, or thyroid dysfunction, consult your child's doctor before giving Flucomb DS Oral Suspension. Always inform your doctor about your child's medical history before administering this medicine.
Never give your child medicines intended for adult use. Children should only receive medicines specifically formulated for them, as using adult medicines may cause unwanted side effects. Always check the label of the medicine before administering it to your child. If the symptoms persist or worsen, consult your child's doctor for further guidance.
Flucomb DS Oral Suspension may cause mild drowsiness, making your child feel sleepy. Be cautious and avoid using this medicine to induce sleep, as it may mask underlying sleep disorders like insomnia. Consult your child's doctor before administering this medicine to your child.
Flucomb DS Oral Suspension should be stored at room temperature, in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children to avoid accidental intake.
