Oral Suspension
Floxole MZ Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine that is effective against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections. In children, it is used to treat infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Floxole MZ Oral Suspension is an antibiotic having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if your child experiences an altered taste. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Floxole MZ Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Discontinue Floxole MZ Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.
While an extra dose of Floxole MZ Oral Suspension will not have any side effects, you must always be vigilant. If you believe you have given too much Floxole MZ Oral Suspension to your child, immediately contact a doctor. Overdose increases the risk of unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, blood cell abnormalities, and rapid and irregular heartbeat. Rush to your child's doctor at once if you notice any of these symptoms.
In case of insufficient treatment with Floxole MZ Oral Suspension, it may be unable to fight the bacteria causing the infection. In such a situation, consult your child's doctor who may prescribe another antibiotic with specific action against the causative bacteria.
Floxole MZ Oral Suspension can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your doctor about all medications your child is taking before starting Floxole MZ Oral Suspension. Also, consult your child's doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not be vaccinated until they have recovered from the illness. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
Inform the doctor if your child is suffering from heart disease, genetic disorders involving blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy (allergy from sunlight), neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. This is because there is a possibility that Floxole MZ Oral Suspension may aggravate these conditions and result in complications.
Yes, it is normal. Floxole MZ Oral Suspension contains an active ingredient called metronidazole which can cause red-brown urine. This is a harmless side effect. It will subside once the medicine is stopped after the completion of the treatment.
No, do not give Floxole MZ Oral Suspension with cough and cold medications as this can interfere with their working.
