Introduction

Floxistar OM Syrup is a combination of three active ingredients: ofloxacin, metronidazole, and simethicone. It is used to treat bacterial infections in children, including those of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract. The antibiotic ingredients in Floxistar OM Syrup interfere with the genetic material of bacteria, killing the infection-causing bacteria and preventing their growth and spread. Simethicone, on the other hand, helps to remove gas bubbles and provides relief from stomach pain and bloating.

Floxistar OM Syrup is given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections. It is important to follow the dosage instructions provided by the doctor and to complete the full course of treatment.

Your child may have an altered taste or furry tongue (coating of Floxistar OM Syrup on tongue) after taking Floxistar OM Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Floxistar OM Syrup as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Never use this medicine for the common cold and flu as they are caused by viruses and Floxistar OM Syrup treats only bacterial infections. Discontinue Floxistar OM Syrup and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing.
