Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Flemiclav Kid DT Tablet Tablet DT?
Flemiclav Kid DT Tablet Tablet DT may interact with other medications. Consult your doctor or pharmacist about possible interactions before giving it to your child. It is crucial to inform them about all the medications your child is taking.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Flemiclav Kid DT Tablet Tablet DT?
Antibiotics are generally not expected to interfere with the components of vaccines or cause adverse reactions in a child who has just been immunized. However, it is best to avoid administering any medicine to your child until they recover fully from their illness. Once your child feels better, vaccination can be administered.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Flemiclav Kid DT Tablet Tablet DT on a long-term basis?
Periodic kidney and liver function tests will likely be recommended to monitor the treatment's effects on your child during prolonged therapy.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Flemiclav Kid DT Tablet Tablet DT to my child?
It is not recommended to exceed the prescribed dosage of this medication. Higher doses can increase the risk of potential side effects. If you notice any worsening of your child's symptoms, consult your doctor for a re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving Flemiclav Kid DT Tablet Tablet DT to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
Do not discontinue treatment without completing the full course prescribed by your doctor. Even if you see improvements, it is crucial to continue the medication for its intended effect. The medication may still be beneficial even after symptom relief.
Can the use of Flemiclav Kid DT Tablet Tablet DT cause diarrhea?
Yes, Flemiclav Kid DT Tablet Tablet DT can cause diarrhea in some cases. This is due to its effect on harmful bacteria and may disrupt healthy bacteria in your child's stomach. If your child experiences diarrhea, encourage them to drink fluids and seek medical advice if the issue persists or signs of dehydration (dark-colored, strong-smelling urine) are present. Don't administer any other medicine without consulting your doctor.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Viruses and bacteria can be responsible for the illness. Most common cold cases don't lead to secondary bacterial infections. It is important to consult your doctor before administering antibiotics if a bacterial infection is suspected.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Thickening and discoloration of mucus, such as from yellow or green, does not always signify the need for antibiotics in viral infections. However, these changes are typical with common colds. Symptoms often resolve within 7 to 10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
It is crucial to contact your doctor immediately if you notice any serious side effects like allergic reactions (breathing difficulties, skin rashes), gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, pallor, vomiting). These symptoms are rare but need urgent medical attention.
