How it works
Fixital CV Dry Syrup is a potent antibiotic comprising two active medicines: Cefixime and Clavulanic acid. Cefixime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. By doing so, this medicine stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing and prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment. The second ingredient, clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It reduces resistance and enhances the activity of cefixime against bacteria.
Quick Tips
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or become resistant or cause another infection. Fixital CV Dry Syrup may cause a bitter taste. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Fixital CV Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses. Never save medicine for future illnesses. It cannot be said whether the same medicine will work on future infections. Stop Fixital CV Dry Syrup immediately if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty. Report to the doctor without any delay.

Frequently asked questions
What if I give too much of Fixital CV Dry Syrup by mistake?
If you believe you have given your child an excess dose of Fixital CV Dry Syrup, contact a medical professional immediately. While additional doses usually don't cause significant harm, overdosing can increase the risk of adverse effects and may worsen your child's condition.
Are there any possible serious side effects of Fixital CV Dry Syrup?
Serious side effects associated with this medicine include persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergic reactions, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. It is crucial to consult your child's doctor immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Fixital CV Dry Syrup?
Fixital CV Dry Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. Before starting this medication, inform your child's doctor about all other medications they are taking. Furthermore, it is essential to discuss any additional medicine use before administering it to your child.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Fixital CV Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics generally do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or trigger adverse reactions in children who recently received them. However, vaccination should be avoided until your child recovers from the illness. Once they feel better, you can administer the vaccine.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Mucus color does not necessarily indicate the type of infection your child has. Yellow or green mucus in the nasal discharge does not automatically necessitate antibiotics. During a common cold, symptoms usually last for 7-10 days, and mucus may change texture and color during this time.
My child is having a sore throat and ear infection. Can I give antibiotics?
No. The majority of sore throats and ear infections are caused by viruses, and antibiotics are not prescribed for viral illnesses. If your child experiences a sore throat, runny nose, a barking cough, pain, and discharge from the ear, it is likely due to a virus. Please consult your child's doctor for guidance.
