It works by reducing the activity of the brain's cough center and blocking the effects of histamine. While it is effective in relieving symptoms, it may cause dizziness and drowsiness. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and consult a doctor if symptoms persist for more than 7 days or are accompanied by fever, rash, or headache.
