Festol Tablet is a medicine used for medical abortion (terminating a pregnancy) and preventing excessive bleeding after delivery.

Festol Tablet is given alone or in combination with some other medicine to attain the maximum benefit. It should be taken with food or as your doctor's advice. It should be taken orally by swallowing the tablets whole with a drink of water. If you experience vomiting within 30 minutes of tablet intake, inform your doctor or take another tablet. The medicine may take 24 hours to show its action and you experience bleeding.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Festol Tablet is to be taken with food.
Festol Tablet increases contractions of the uterus to cause abortion. It can also prevent post-delivery bleeding due to poor contraction of the uterus.

Festol Tablet contains Misoprostol, a medication used for medical termination of pregnancy. It's used in combination with another medication called Mifepristone. It is only used to terminate pregnancies that are less than 63 days old, starting from the first day of the last menstrual period. Festol Tablet works by increasing uterine contractions and may also be used to prevent or treat post-delivery bleeding and for cervical ripening.
Festol Tablet must only be administered in a clinic or healthcare facility under the supervision of a qualified gynecologist.
After taking Festol Tablet, you may experience abdominal cramping, diarrhea, stomach pain, and nausea. Vaginal bleeding may begin within 4 hours of taking the medication. You may be asked to stay at the clinic or healthcare center for at least three hours after administering this medicine. After 14 days of using Mifepristone (the pill taken before Festol Tablet), your gynecologist may perform blood tests or an ultrasonography scan to confirm if pregnancy has been terminated.
No, studies have shown that this medication does not impair female fertility. Your chances of becoming pregnant after using Festol Tablet are the same as those who have not used it.
Common side effects of Festol Tablet include abdominal pain, cramping, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, uterine contractions, pelvic pain, and shivering. If you experience a very heavy vaginal bleeding or any discomfort from these side effects, please contact your gynecologist immediately.
