Festive MZ Oral Suspension is an antibiotic having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if your child experiences an altered taste. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Festive MZ Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection. Discontinue Festive MZ Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.
If you think your child has taken an extra dose of Festive MZ Oral Suspension, seek immediate medical attention. Overdosing on this medication can lead to severe side effects such as seizures, tremors, headaches, weakness, blood cell abnormalities, and irregular heartbeat.
If your child is not responding to Festive MZ Oral Suspension, it may be that the medication is not effective against the infection-causing bacteria. In this case, consult with your child's doctor who may prescribe alternative antibiotics.
