Ferina 20mg Injection is an iron replacement medicine used to treat iron-deficiency anemia.

Ferina 20mg Injection is given by slow infusion (drip) into a vein by your doctor or nurse. Your doctor will decide the dose you need and how many injections you should have to improve your anemia. It will also help to eat a well-balanced diet that has enough iron. Good sources of iron include pulses (dal), green leafy vegetables like spinach, beans, eggs, dry fruits, and non-vegetarian foods. The most common side effects include altered taste, hypertension (high blood pressure), nausea, and injection site reactions (such as pain, redness, and swelling). Some people may develop a temporary fall in blood pressure (hypotension) if this medicine is given too rapidly. Your doctor will also monitor you for signs of an allergic reaction such as breathlessness, dizziness, feeling uneasy, hives, swelling of face, tongue, and throat, etc. while this medicine is being given.

Ferina 20mg Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Ferina 20mg Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

You may be asked for regular monitoring of iron level in blood while taking this medicine. It may cause dizziness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Inform your doctor if notice shortness of breath, swelling of face, low blood pressure, itching, or rash.
