Folic acid is a form of vitamin B that plays a vital role in the formation of red blood cells and is essential in pregnancy due to its role in the development of the unborn baby's brain and spinal cord. Ferrous Ascorbate acts as a catalyst in various biochemical reactions in our body, facilitates transport and utilization of oxygen and helps in cell growth and proliferation, improving the production of red blood cells and hemoglobin.

However, this weight gain was not observed when taken with a normal or low-fat diet even in excess doses of Feriaz-XT Tablet. More research is needed for human studies. Therefore, if you are on Feriaz-XT Tablet, avoid taking excessive doses and eat a low-fat meal to be on the safer side.
Maintaining adequate iron and folic acid levels in the body before pregnancy helps prevent neural tube defects (NTDs) in the baby. NTDs usually occur if the structure (neural tube) from which the central nervous system develops (brain and spinal cord) doesn't form or is only partially closed. Folic acid aids in forming neural tubes. Therefore, to prevent NTDs, women should start taking Feriaz-XT Tablet before four weeks of pregnancy.
Yes, you can breastfeed while taking Feriaz-XT Tablet as it is not harmful for the baby. Feriaz-XT Tablet contains folic acid as an active ingredient which is naturally found in breast milk. It also contains iron but iron does not pass through breast milk. Although initial levels of folic acid in breast milk are low, they eventually rise. Since folic acid is actively secreted in breast milk, your doctor might recommend taking Feriaz-XT Tablet daily to maintain the necessary levels. If you have any questions regarding nutrient supplementation during breastfeeding, speak with your doctor.
You can take Feriaz-XT Tablet anytime of the day, but try to take it at the same time each day. This will help you remember to take it. Take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The medicine should be swallowed as a whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, cut or crush the medication.
