Famtac Tablet is an antacid that reduces the amount of acid produced by your stomach. It is used to treat and prevent heartburn, indigestion, and stomach ulcers. It is also commonly prescribed to prevent stomach ulcers and heartburn caused due to the use of painkillers. It must be swallowed whole with water before or after a meal. The medicine must be taken in the dose and duration advised by the doctor. This medicine should relieve indigestion and heartburn within a few hours. If the symptoms persist or get worse even after 14 days of treatment, you should consult your doctor immediately. It is not recommended to take this medicine in severe stomach disease. You can help the medicine work better by eating smaller meals more often and avoiding spicy or oily foods.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Famtac Tablet is to be taken with food.

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Famtac Tablet.
Famtac Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Famtac Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Famtac Tablet is a histamine H2 receptor antagonist. It works by reducing the acid produced in the stomach. This helps to relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
Take it with or without food. Take other medications to treat acidity 2 hours before or after taking Famtac Tablet. Avoid taking soft drinks and citrus fruits like orange and lemon. Inform your doctor if you do not feel better after taking Famtac Tablet for 2 weeks. Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney disease. Do not stop taking the medication without talking to your doctor.
Famtac Tablet can be taken with or without food. It may be taken once daily before bedtime or twice daily in the morning and before bedtime, as recommended.
Famtac Tablet starts working as fast as within 15 minutes from when it is given. Its effects are seen to last all day or all night.
Famtac Tablet and Omeprazole belong to different groups of medicines. While Famtac Tablet belongs to the histamine H2 antagonists group, Omeprazole belongs to the proton pump inhibitors group. Both these medications work by reducing the amount of acid made by the stomach to relieve symptoms and allow healing.
Serious side effects of Famtac Tablet are rare but may include hives, skin rash, itching, hoarseness, and difficulty breathing or swallowing. Another significant symptom is swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs. Report any of these symptoms to your doctor immediately.
Avoid taking aspirin and other painkillers used for arthritis, period pain, or headache because these may irritate the stomach and worsen your condition. Consult with your doctor for alternative medications. Avoid coffee, tea, cocoa, and cola drinks as they contain ingredients that might irritate your stomach. Eat smaller, more frequent meals. Eat slowly and chew your food carefully. Try not to rush during mealtimes. You should stop or cut down on smoking.
While the long-term safety of Famtac Tablet is limited, it is considered a relatively safe medication when taken as recommended by your doctor. Do not take over-the-counter Famtac Tablet for longer than 2 weeks unless advised by your physician.
