Extramol 250mg Syrup is a widely prescribed medicine that helps to ease pain and bring down high body temperature (fever). In children, it treats conditions like headache, toothache, body ache, fever, and common cold.
Give Extramol 250mg Syrup to your child with food or milk to prevent an upset stomach. Your child should not take more than four doses of this medicine in 24 hours, so wait up to 6 hours between doses.

Extramol 250mg Syrup possesses analgesic (pain-reliever) and antipyretic (lowers body temperature) properties. It provides relief by blocking certain chemical messengers and pathways in the brain that send signals about pain and fever.
Give Extramol 250mg Syrup to your child with food or milk to prevent an upset stomach. Your child should not take more than four doses of this medicine in 24 hours, so wait up to 6 hours between doses. Never give any other medicine formulation containing paracetamol along with this medicine as that may lead to serious side effects. Inform the doctor if your child has liver disease as the dose may need to be adjusted. If Extramol 250mg Syrup does not seem to be helping your child, contact your doctor for advice. Do not give extra doses.
Always follow your doctor's instructions regarding dosage and administration frequency. The appropriate amount of medicine for a child depends on the strength of the syrup, their age, and any other individual needs. Please refer to the label or the leaflet enclosed with the packaging for specific directions before use. The typical dose range is 10-15 mg/kg administered every 4 to 6 hours.
Extramol 250mg Syrup typically starts showing effect within 30 to 60 minutes of intake and reaches peak effectiveness within 3 to 4 hours. Your child may experience improvement shortly after a few doses. If the pain or fever persists, consult your child's doctor immediately.
If your child experiences vomiting within 30 minutes of taking Extramol 250mg Syrup, administer another dose. If it has been more than 30 minutes since the medication was taken and your child vomits, no need to repeat the dose. It is advised to consult with your child’s doctor if there are any uncertainties regarding dosage.
You can administer this medicine when your child has a temperature of 38.3°C (101°F) or higher. It is highly recommended that you discuss with your child's doctor before administering the medication.
If the fever doesn’t decrease after initial doses, it might indicate an underlying infection (viral or bacterial). Please consult your child's doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.
It's advisable to limit the intake of Extramol 250mg Syrup to four doses in 24 hours. Ensure there are at least 4-6 hour intervals between doses. Do not exceed three days without discussing your child’s dosage with their doctor. Overdose can lead to liver and kidney damage. If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor immediately.
Unless instructed by a doctor, encourage your child to maintain a normal balanced diet while continuing the medication as malnutrition can pose a risk for adverse effects.
