How it works
Expert CV Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Expert CV Dry Syrup?
Expert CV Dry Syrup may interact with certain medications. It's important to tell your child's doctor about all medications, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements, before starting this treatment. Your child's doctor should provide guidance on proper use and potential interactions.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Expert CV Dry Syrup?
Generally, antibiotics do not significantly affect vaccines or cause adverse reactions in children who have received them recently. However, it's important to follow your doctor's recommendations regarding vaccination schedules and ensure the complete recovery from any illness before administering a vaccine.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Expert CV Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Regular monitoring is typically required for long-term treatment. Kidney and liver function tests may be ordered periodically to assess your child's overall well-being.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Expert CV Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving more than the prescribed dosage of this medicine can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences increased symptom severity, consult their doctor for a re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving Expert CV Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
No, do not discontinue this medication without completing the full course of treatment as per your doctor's instructions. Even if symptoms improve, it is important to continue the medication for its intended duration.
Can the use of Expert CV Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Expert CV Dry Syrup can sometimes lead to diarrhea. It kills harmful bacteria in the body but also may impact beneficial bacteria in the child's gut, leading to diarrhea. Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids and contact a doctor if the diarrhea persists or if dehydration symptoms (like dark-colored urine and reduced urination frequency) develop.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most viral infections do not directly lead to bacterial infections. However, it's essential to consult with your child's doctor before using antibiotics as they may worsen the situation.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose is not an indication that antibiotics are necessary. During a common cold, nasal mucus often thickens and changes color. Symptoms typically last for 7 to 10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
You should contact your child's doctor immediately if they experience serious allergic reactions (breathing difficulties, skin rashes), gastrointestinal issues (diarrhea), or evidence of liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). These side effects are rare but should be addressed by a medical professional.
