Zydus Cadila
Tofacitinib (11mg)
Exnib 11mg Tablet ER is used to treat moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and ulcerative colitis. It helps decrease pain, tenderness, and swelling in the joints by reducing inflammation.
Tablet ER
Exnib 11mg Tablet ER may be prescribed by itself or in combination with another medicine. The tablets can be taken with or without food and it is best to take them at the same time each day. Your dose will depend on your condition and what other medicines you are taking. You should use it as your doctor tells you to. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to because your condition could get worse.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Exnib 11mg Tablet ER may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Exnib 11mg Tablet ER is a Janus kinase inhibitor. It works by blocking the action of the enzyme Janus kinase. This decreases the activity of the immune system and inflammation associated with rheumatic diseases and ulcerative colitis.
May take 3 to 6 months to feel the maximum effect of this medication. Keep taking it as prescribed. Your doctor may get regular blood tests done to monitor your liver function, kidney function, blood counts, or cholesterol levels. Exnib 11mg Tablet ER can make it a bit harder for people to fight off infections. Inform your doctor if you have symptoms of an infection such as fever, chills, cough, and muscle aches. Your doctor may get TB (tuberculosis) skin test and a chest X-ray before starting treatment with this medication. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding.
You should inform your doctor about any history of liver problems before starting Exnib 11mg Tablet ER. This is because Exnib 11mg Tablet ER may cause an increase in liver enzymes, and a liver function test is needed prior to treatment. Although Exnib 11mg Tablet ER can be prescribed for patients with mild to moderate liver impairment, it should not be prescribed to those with severe liver impairment.
Exnib 11mg Tablet ER may increase the chance of developing certain cancers (lymphoma and other cancers including skin cancers) by affecting the immune system. It is important to inform your doctor if you have ever had or currently have any type of cancer.
Exnib 11mg Tablet ER is approved for use in people with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis. It helps to reduce the inflammation in joints. It may be prescribed if previous treatment was not successful or did not suit the patient. In some cases, it can even be prescribed earlier if a person does not respond well to initial medications.
It usually takes about 2 to 8 weeks before you start feeling better, and it can take 3 to 6 months to feel the full effect of this medication.
You may need blood tests before starting Exnib 11mg Tablet ER or while you are taking it. Blood tests help ensure that treatment is safe and effective, as they check for certain indicators such as low red blood cell count (anemia), low white blood cell count (neutropenia or lymphopenia), high blood fat (cholesterol) or high levels of liver enzymes.
Exnib 11mg Tablet ER can affect the immune system, which may reduce your ability to fight infection. This could increase your risk of serious infections and potentially life-threatening complications such as tuberculosis or severe fungal, bacterial, or viral infections that spread throughout the body.
You should not combine tocilizumab with Exnib 11mg Tablet ER. Both medicines affect the immune system and may increase the risk of infections or complications.
