Evtab 2mg Tablet is a type of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that is used to relieve symptoms of menopause. It is a medication that is taken orally and is available in the form of a tablet. The dose and duration of treatment will be decided by your doctor. It is important to take the medication as directed and not to stop taking it without consulting your doctor.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Evtab 2mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Evtab 2mg Tablet contains a medication called estrogen (female sex hormone). It works by replacing estrogen that is normally produced by the body. In women who are undergoing or have attained menopause, it prevents symptoms such as hot flushes, vaginal burning, dryness, and itching caused due to lack of estrogen.
You have been prescribed Evtab 2mg Tablet as a part of hormone replacement therapy to relieve symptoms of menopause. Take it at the same time every day to help you remember to take it. Inform your doctor if you experience any unusual vaginal bleeding or spotting, abnormal vaginal discharge or vaginal discomfort while taking Evtab 2mg Tablet. It may increase the risk of breast cancer. Have regular breast examinations. Stop taking this medicine and inform your doctor immediately if you notice unexplained swelling and pain in your limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain, or changes in vision.
Evtab 2mg Tablet contains Estradiol, which is an estrogen hormone. It helps in treating estrogen deficiency symptoms like hot flushes (red and warm face) and vaginal dryness in women. It is also used to prevent osteoporosis (thinning and weakening of bones) in postmenopausal women who are at high risk of fractures and have limited treatment choice.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If the dose was missed by more than 12 hours, do not take the missed dose and simply continue the usual dosing schedule.
Common side effects associated with Evtab 2mg Tablet are lower abdominal pain, periods pain, breast tenderness, endometrial hyperplasia (thickening of uterus lining), and vaginal discharge. Most of these symptoms are temporary. However, if any persist, check with your doctor as soon as possible.
For estrogen deficiency, treatment is based on the underlying cause. Your doctor may choose from a variety of medications depending upon your age and clinical conditions. The medications will also depend upon whether you are estrogen deficient or have high progesterone levels.
Evtab 2mg Tablet should not be taken by patients with unusual vaginal bleeding, liver problems, or bleeding disorders. It should also be avoided to pregnant women or those who are allergic to Evtab 2mg Tablet. Patients who have had uterus or breast cancer, had a stroke or heart attack, or currently have or had blood clots should also avoid this medicine.
Evtab 2mg Tablet may cause either weight gain or weight loss. This is a common side effect of Evtab 2mg Tablet. However, exercising regularly and eating a healthy nutritious diet can help prevent weight gain. In case you notice weight gain and it bothers you, consult your doctor.
Evtab 2mg Tablet tablets should be taken exactly as advised by your doctor. Swallow the tablets whole with water. You can take it at any time of the day but take it at the same time each day.
