Other medicines for bone disorders or heart disease, antihypertensives, antibiotics, antacids, or other calcium supplements
Evolan's Calcilan Gold Softgel Capsule is a combination of B vitamins and minerals. Calcitriol works by helping the body utilize more of the calcium present in ingested foods or supplements and regulating the body's production of parathyroid hormone. Calcium carbonate works in the blood by preventing or treating negative calcium balance seen in low serum calcium conditions. Calcium is required for healthy muscles, bones, nervous system, and heart. Omega-3 fatty acids may decrease the amount of triglycerides and other fats produced in the liver. Methylcobalamin corrects vitamin B12 deficiency, thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems. Folic acid is essential for the production of red blood cells. It prevents and treats folate deficiency and anemia. When taken by pregnant women, folic acid prevents miscarriage, preterm labor, and neural tube defects in infants. Boron improves the metabolism of key vitamins and minerals.
Inform your doctor if you have kidney problems or if you have ever had kidney stones. Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medications like for bone disorders or heart disease, antihypertensives, antibiotics, antacids, or other calcium supplements. Inform your doctor if you are taking an iron supplement, as its absorption rate might be affected if co-administered with Evolan's Calcilan Gold Softgel Capsule.
Evolan's Calcilan Gold Softgel Capsule is a nutritional supplement containing various vitamins and minerals. When your body lacks sufficient levels of these nutrients, which cannot be easily replenished through food alone, this medicine helps replenish those deficiencies. The capsule also contains calcium in high amounts to help improve calcium levels in the body.
It is advisable to avoid taking this medicine alongside other herbal or health supplements.
Calcium is vital for maintaining strong bones and teeth. It also plays a key role in nerve signal transmission, blood clotting, and muscle contraction and relaxation. Most of the calcium we obtain from our diet is stored in bones and teeth. Therefore, insufficient calcium intake can impair bone health and increase the risk of osteoporosis.
The recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for calcium in Indian adults is 600 mg. During pregnancy and lactation, the RDA increases to 1200 mg. It's best to consult your doctor if you have any questions regarding calcium intake.
You can schedule a calcium test with an accredited laboratory to measure the amount of calcium in your blood. After receiving your test results, discuss them with your doctor for further evaluation.
While calcium supplements and foods rich in calcium can be beneficial, exceeding recommended intake levels may lead to bloating, constipation, a chalky taste in the mouth, and an increased risk of kidney stones, prostate cancer, and heart disease.
Based on your calcium blood test results, your doctor may recommend increasing dietary intake of calcium-rich foods such as dairy products (milk, yogurt, cheese), oranges, and calcium-fortified foods (breakfast cereals, soymilk, bread). In severe cases, calcium supplements may be prescribed. Remember to always consult your doctor before using calcium supplements.
For optimal nutrient absorption, it is recommended to take any multivitamins in the morning after breakfast.
