Introduction

Ethiflox RA Oral Suspension is given to children to treat the symptoms of acute diarrhea and dysentery caused due to bacterial infections. It kills the diarrhea-causing microorganism, restores the level of water and electrolytes, and reduces the symptoms, severity, and duration of illness.

Use Ethiflox RA Oral Suspension together with an oral rehydration solution (ORS) to provide adequate fluid and electrolyte replacement.

Ethiflox RA Oral Suspension contains three medicines: Ofloxacin, Ornidazole, and Racecadotril. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and causing infection. Ornidazole is also an antibiotic that kills other microorganisms in addition to bacteria by damaging their DNA. Racecadotril is an enkephalinase inhibitor that reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine, helping to reduce the amount of fluid lost from the body in diarrhea.

Use Ethiflox RA Oral Suspension together with an oral rehydration solution (ORS) to provide adequate fluid and electrolyte replacement. Give your child plenty of fluids to replenish water and mineral loss. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help alleviate an altered taste. Do not mix Ethiflox RA Oral Suspension along with any other herbal or ayurvedic medicine as it can harm. Do not give Ethiflox RA Oral Suspension if your child has persistent uncontrolled vomiting as this medicine will not be absorbed.
