Estralet 2mg Tablet is a female sex hormone (estrogen) used to treat symptoms associated with menopause, estrogen deficiency, and thinning of bones (osteoporosis).
Tablet
Estralet 2mg Tablet is a type of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that is used to relieve symptoms of menopause. It is to be swallowed with water and can be taken with or without food, but remember to take it at a fixed time each day for better efficacy. The dose and duration will be decided by your doctor so that you get the right amount to control your symptoms.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Estralet 2mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Estralet 2mg Tablet contains a medication called estrogen (female sex hormone). It works by replacing estrogen that is normally produced by the body. In women who are undergoing or have attained menopause, it prevents symptoms such as hot flushes, vaginal burning, dryness, and itching caused due to lack of estrogen.
You have been prescribed Estralet 2mg Tablet as a part of hormone replacement therapy to relieve symptoms of menopause. It may also be used for preventing osteoporosis in postmenopausal women who are at high risk of fractures. Take it at the same time everyday to help you remember to take it. Inform your doctor if you experience any unusual vaginal bleeding or spotting abnormal vaginal discharge or vaginal discomfort while taking Estralet 2mg Tablet.
Estralet 2mg Tablet contains Estradiol, a form of estrogen hormone. It helps treat symptoms of estrogen deficiency, such as hot flushes (redness and warmth in the face) and vaginal dryness in women. It also helps prevent osteoporosis (thinning and weakening of bones) in postmenopausal women who are at high risk of fractures and have limited treatment choices.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If the missed dose is more than 12 hours, do not take a replacement and continue with your regular dosage schedule.
Common side effects associated with Estralet 2mg Tablet include lower abdominal pain, period cramps, breast tenderness, endometrial hyperplasia (thickening of uterine lining), and vaginal discharge. Most of these symptoms are temporary. However, if they persist, contact your doctor immediately.
Treatment for estrogen deficiency depends on the underlying cause. Your doctor may prescribe various medications based on age and individual circumstances. The choice of medication will also depend on whether you are deficient in estrogen or have high progesterone levels.
Do not take Estralet 2mg Tablet if you have unusual vaginal bleeding, liver problems, or a bleeding disorder. It is also not suitable for pregnant women or individuals with known allergies to the medication. Additionally, avoid this medication for those who have had uterus or breast cancer, experienced a stroke or heart attack, or currently suffer from or have had blood clots.
Estralet 2mg Tablet may cause either weight gain or loss. This is common side effect of the medication. However, regular exercise and a healthy, balanced diet can help prevent unwanted weight changes. If you notice any significant weight gain that concerns you, speak to your doctor.
Take Estralet 2mg Tablets exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow them whole with water. You can take them at any time of the day but maintain a consistent dosage schedule.
