Espumizan is a medication used to treat swelling and heaviness in the abdomen caused by gas accumulation in the stomach and intestines.

Espumizan contains simethicone, which reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles and breaks down bubble foam, allowing gas to be absorbed by the intestinal wall and passed out of the gut. It is a physical agent that does not interact with microorganisms or enzymes, and does not affect digestion or stomach acidity.
Infants 1 month of age: 20-40 drops a day for 2 to 4 divided doses. Children aged 6 to 14 years: 20-40 drops of 3 to 5 times a day. Or as directed by physician.
