Is it safe to use Esiloc 40 Tablet long-term?
Esiloc 40 Tablet is generally prescribed for short-term use only. If necessary, such as for peptic ulcer disease or Zollinger Ellison syndrome (ZES), long-term use may be considered. However, it's crucial to discuss this with your doctor to ensure safe and appropriate usage, minimizing potential side effects.
What are the potential long-term side effects of Esiloc 40 Tablet?
Long-term use (beyond three months) may lead to certain side effects. These include low magnesium levels in your blood, which can cause fatigue, confusion, dizziness, shakiness, or lightheadedness. Muscle twitches and irregular heartbeat are also possible. In prolonged use exceeding a year, the risk of bone fractures, stomach infections, and vitamin B12 deficiency increases. Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to anemia, causing feelings of tiredness, weakness, or paleness. Additionally, you may experience palpitations, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, indigestion, loss of appetite, flatulence (gas), or nerve problems such as numbness, tingling, and walking difficulties.
Can I discontinue Esiloc 40 Tablet if I feel better?
