Epipress 100mg Tablet is an antiepileptic medication used to treat and prevent epilepsy (seizures). It controls seizures by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. It is important to take this medicine regularly as directed by your doctor to prevent seizures.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Epipress 100mg Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Take your medication regularly as directed by your doctor as missing doses can trigger seizures. Do not change the brand of your medicine and make sure that you have sufficient amount of medicine present with you. Practice yoga every day. Get enough sleep at nighttime. Limit the use of screen time such as mobile/laptop. Take your medication on time. It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you. It may increase blood sugar levels. Inform your doctor if you are taking any medicines to treat diabetes. It may cause swollen gum (gum hypertrophy) hence take care of oral or dental hygiene. Talk to your doctor if you notice sudden mood changes or develop suicidal thoughts. Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may increase the seizure frequency.
Epipress 100mg Tablets typically remain detectable for 5-6 days. This duration can vary between individuals, with some cases showing a prolonged presence of up to 9-10 days.
Suddenly stopping Epipress 100mg Tablet can lead to seizures (status epilepticus), which pose a significant risk to life. It is critical to consult your doctor before stopping the medication. Your doctor will guide you on a gradual dose reduction if necessary.
Taking excessive doses of Epipress 100mg Tablet may lead to symptoms like eye jerking (nystagmus), unclear speech, loss of balance, tremor, muscle stiffness or weakness, nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, fainting, blurred vision, slow and shallow breathing, and potentially coma. Overdose can also cause low blood pressure and respiratory problems. These complications can be life-threatening.
Individuals with liver disease, especially those with a history of developing liver problems related to Epipress 100mg Tablet, must avoid it. Additionally, patients on Delavirdine (a medication used for HIV treatment) should not use Epipress 100mg Tablet as its combination may reduce the effectiveness of Delavirdine and increase the risk of resistance.
Epipress 100mg Tablet can be taken in conjunction with ibuprofen. No known drug interactions have been reported between these two medications. However, it is recommended to consult your doctor before combining them.
Common side effects in children taking Epipress 100mg Tablet include eye jerking (nystagmus) and overgrowth of the gums. In some cases, it can cause problems with thinking or behavior, mood changes, slowed or clumsy movements, or a loss of energy. These side effects may be mitigated by gradually increasing the dose.
Epipress 100mg Tablets have not been reported to cause weight gain. However, long-term use at a higher dose might lead to unintended weight loss. Consult your doctor if you notice any unexplained changes in your body weight.
Epipress 100mg Tablet can induce drowsiness (sedation, somnolence, and decreased alertness). If you experience excessive sleepiness after taking the medication, especially in the first few weeks of treatment or following a dose increase, consult your doctor.
