Epalrest 50 Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as Aldose reductase inhibitors. It can be taken with or without food but should be taken at the same time every day to help remember the dose. The dose and frequency will be decided by your doctor to control your symptoms effectively. It may take up to 3 months to get the full benefits, but you should keep taking it regularly. Do not stop taking it without consulting your doctor, as your condition may worsen. Continue taking other prescribed medicines for blood sugar control. The most common side effects include nausea, vomiting, and abnormalities in liver function tests. Epalrest 50 Tablet is an aldose reductase inhibitor. It blocks the accumulation of sorbitol in cells, which has been related to causing diabetic nerve disease.

Adherence to antidiabetic therapy can delay the onset of or prevent diabetic nerve disease. If you have existing diabetic nerve disease, wear proper footwear and examine your feet every day to detect lesions early. If you have a foot injury or open wound, avoid engaging in weight-bearing activities.
