Enapril 5 Tablet is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, and may be prescribed after a heart attack. It also lowers the chances of having a heart attack or stroke.

Enapril 5 Tablet can be prescribed either alone or in combination with other medicines. It should be taken on an empty stomach. This medicine should be taken at the same time each day to get the most benefit. It is important to continue taking it regularly even if you feel well or even if your blood pressure is controlled. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel ill but if you stop taking this medicine your condition could get worse. This is a widely used medicine and is considered safe for long-term use.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Enapril 5 Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Enapril 5 Tablet does not cause excessive urination. However, it may not affect normally functioning kidneys. If you have severe heart failure or pre-existing kidney damage, there is a risk of kidney failure. Timely and appropriate treatment can reverse kidney damage.
In rare cases, Enapril 5 Tablet may cause yellowing of skin and eyes, loss of appetite, and increased liver enzymes. It can also cause significant liver damage or even death. If you experience these symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.
When taking Enapril 5 Tablet with hydrochlorothiazide, be cautious, as it can further decrease blood pressure. You may experience symptoms of kidney failure, such as reduced urine output, swelling, or seizures. Consult your doctor, who may advise discontinuing hydrochlorothiazide or reducing the dose.
Avoid taking ibuprofen and Enapril 5 Tablet together, as it may increase the risk of kidney damage and reduce the effectiveness of Enapril 5 Tablet. Consult your doctor for an alternative to ibuprofen.
Enapril 5 Tablet reduces blood pressure within a few hours, but it may take a few weeks to see full benefits. You may not notice a difference in blood pressure, but it can only be confirmed through regular blood pressure checks.
