Enalet 10mg Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It relaxes and widens the blood vessels, making it easier for blood to flow through them. This allows the heart to work less, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of heart attack or stroke. It is also used to treat and prevent congestive heart failure.
Enalet 10mg Tablet does not usually cause excessive urination (loss of water through urine). Its use might not affect normally functioning kidneys, but using it with a diuretic (water pill) may increase the risk of kidney damage. In such cases, either discontinue the diuretic or reduce its dosage. If you have severe heart failure or if your kidneys are already affected, there is a risk of kidney failure. However, early and appropriate treatment can reverse any damage caused to the kidneys.
Rarely, Enalet 10mg Tablet may cause yellowing of the skin and eyes, loss of appetite, and an increase in liver enzymes. This could lead to liver damage. In case you experience any such symptoms, call your doctor immediately.
Using Enalet 10mg Tablet with hydrochlorothiazide may further decrease blood pressure and increase the risk of kidney failure. Symptoms like reduced urine output, swelling of the legs, ankles, and feet (edema), shortness of breath, excessive drowsiness or fatigue, persistent nausea, confusion, chest pain, and seizures can occur if there is substantial water or salt loss before starting Enalet 10mg Tablet. If you experience any such issues, please contact your doctor who may advise discontinuing hydrochlorothiazide, reduce its dosage, or even prescribe a lower dose of Enalet 10mg Tablet in combination with hydrochlorothiazide.
