This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying unless hands are the affected area.
Emrolfin Cream contains Amorolfine and Phenoxyethanol which treat fungal skin infections. Amorolfine is an antifungal medicine which stops the growth of fungi on the skin or nails by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Phenoxyethanol is a preservative.
Emrolfin Cream has been prescribed for the treatment of fungal skin infection. It also helps in the treatment of nail infection. Keep using the medicine even after the symptoms of the infection have cleared up to prevent it from coming back. Avoid getting in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. When using for nail infections, avoid the use of nail varnishes and artificial nails. Do not share your nail-filer to prevent the spread of infection. Inform your doctor if the infection has not cleared up after 5 days of treatment. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Emrolfin Cream typically takes a few days to weeks to alleviate the symptoms of a nail infection. However, it may take at least 6 months to cure fingernail infections and 9-12 months to cure toenail infections. This is because a nail infection is considered cured only when the infected nail is naturally replaced by a new one.
It is essential to complete the full course of treatment with Emrolfin Cream, even if you experience symptom relief. Stopping treatment prematurely may lead to treatment failure. However, if your infection does not clear up within 5 days of treatment, consult your doctor for guidance.
Store Emrolfin Cream in its original container, tightly closed, and follow the storage instructions provided on the packaging or label. Dispose of unused medicine properly to prevent accidental consumption by pets, children, or other individuals.
