It is used to treat deficiency of vitamin B12 in the body. Vitamin B12 is important for growth, cell reproduction, blood formation, and protein and tissue synthesis. It also helps to treat anemia, fatigue, and numbness or tingling in the hands and feet.

Vitamin B12 can be found in animal products such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy. However, people who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may not consume enough vitamin B12, making deficiency more common in these groups.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to symptoms such as tiredness, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, megaloblastic anemia (enlarged red blood cells), numbness and tingling in the hands and feet, balance problems, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and sore mouth or tongue.
Elmecob 500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash can occur. If a rash appears, discontinue use immediately.
Elmecob 500mcg Injection can be given intravenously or intramuscularly. The standard dose is one ampoule (0.5 mg) every three days for two months, followed by maintenance therapy with one ampoule every one to three months.
When injecting, avoid using the same site each time. If there is intense pain or blood returns into the syringe, remove the needle and reinsert at a different location.
